The World is Saved The World is Saved

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars August 28, 2011

Meh

As somebody who takes music -very- seriously, the song itself isn't impressive.

As somebody who also takes his games -very- seriously, the story the song paints does strike a chord in my heart.

My music side is a little annoyed with the song. The timbre of your voice has a lot of nasal and was sort of hard to sit through. The lyrics (though epic) didn't really have a set rhyming pattern which -really- bothered me. The drums were programmed to keep my interest which I am very thankful for but all the other instruments just sort of blended together and didn't really stand out.

My gamer side is yelling "FUCK YES THIS IS MY ANTHEM!" though kind of embarrassing to admit.

On the flash video itself you did a very good job with the art. I dug the 16 bit and more or less the attention to detail you gave the character design. It was a little iffy in a few places but what can I expect from 16 bit?

So, I'll give you a 4/5. Because I really like the idea of the song and the flash video itself was really good. Perhaps if the song was worked on a bit more a perfect 5 would be given.

Is Retarded. The red line waving around is what's making the Bass Beat.

In any case. The song is catchy as all hell, so congrats for that. The flash alone is pretty interesting to watch just seeing what's making everything you're listening to. The song itself sounds pretty simple but then the music box by the end of it has so much going on that it's almost hard to keep up.

5/5 for me.

Ugh

Poop jokes stopped being funny like, five years ago.
There were at times were the artwork was actually kinda good, but it reminds me a lot of a grade school student who doesn't understand anatomy. The animation was okay but the voice acting was really distracting as well as how quiet the voices were at times.

This is just a really bad game.

Besides the controls basically working against you the entire time: The story is crap, the game play is crap and making weapons is crap. Am I supposed to believe that these aliens from another planet drop a life force that lets me make basic weaponry that have existed for hundreds of years? Sorry, Don't think so.

The was some of the worst voice acting I've ever heard. Not to mention the script was utter crap.

And if I excuse all of this. My main problem with the game was that it didn't do anything to really try and grab my attention. All I did was walk around and try to kill monsters. It's been done a million and one times before and I'm frankly sick of it. It was also bull that I can't shoot these aliens until they're inside my base? Really? Am I suppose to buy a turret? That'll help me of course but you made them so damn expensive. The game isn't fun enough for me to really want to continue playing to get a turret.

I also suspect that when I get the turret it'd make the game stupid amounts of easy.

Either way, the game is awful. What it really needs is a new sound mix. Louder guns would grab my attention a little more as the sounds are mixed way to softly. A better story would do wonders for this game as well, and not to mention a way to shoot enemies before they fuck up my barricades.

1/5

Meh

This is what happens when somebody who isn't a music major tries to make a music game.

Music wasn't bad, wasn't very good either.
Controls were really off
and the lack of an accuracy % made the game really easy (note: SPAM THE HELL OUT OF YOUR ARROW KEYS)

I think if polished the game would be so much greater, but until then this just kinda goes down as a "okay" game.

Fantastic

This is such a great game. It can be frustrating at times but working your way through the levels is a lot of fun.

I like how you mixed speed running with platformer. Though the platforms that we're really bunched up together I found to be extremely hard to continue a combo.

I also liked how in later levels getting a huge combo wasn't as hard considering those little shrimp-things we're jumping out of nowhere trying to kill me. Those guys we're awesome, made getting a high score really easy.

My only grief with this game is that the controls are really slippery. Though that added to the difficulty there were a lot of problem areas that required exact precision and all the sudden I'm dashing to the left or right and I die or I get hurt.

Overall: Great game. Graphics are of course amazing and the character designs are wonderful. The boss was a bit too easy I thought but he wasn't to terribly easy either. The controls need some tweaking; the dash was just way to sensitive. There is a pretty small learning curve on the controls but it's not horrible. 4/5

PS: I didn't like how I lost all my upgrade stock lives whenever I just flat-out died, but at the same time doing that made me want to combo more instead of just running through the level. I see what you did there and I like it. Added some awesome difficulty to the game.

I thought it was funny

Dude I can't rembember when steven erwin died but i think it was after you added this. but thats beside the point. your voice is very clear and the music is very clear which is why I gave you an overal 8. but the song was a bit short so you lost some points there. But not alot of felling in this I thought. still keep up the good work.

Awsome

great impersination of my god jimi hendrix. may have been better. keep working on your rock.

Quoteman responds:

O no, this doesn't come close to Hendrix's version. I'm glad you liked it though. Why is it that nobody reviews my edited version but everybody seems to notice my earlier version?

I will however keep working on my rock
